Description
started a new game with patch 1.13 and after about 20 turns the game could not autosave anymore. the manual saveing of the game also didn´t work.
when i tried to exit the game (normal way over the menue and quit game) the game had an "access violation" error and crashed back to desktop.
Okay, since the game would
Okay, since the game would auto-save after every round, and the auto-save loaded correctly, I was able to progress by closing the game after every round, reopening the game, and loading the most recent save. This procedure allowed me to continue playing, albeing in an annoying way.
I eventually found those races which had rebelled...
Fistly, it seems the game generated whole new races, rather than using the originating race (Norak were rebelling and spontaniously changing in to random neutral races).
Secondly, I found that if I eliminated a particular one (this one alone was, for whatever reason, NOT changed from the base Norak race), this cleared up the problem. As an additional note, this race was situated on a Deadly environment world, and the single Norak satellite in orbit showed up as an occupying ground troop on the planet information. I tried eliminating just the satellite, but this did not clear up the issue. Only extermination of that faction (or perhaps just that planet, but as it was limited to the one planet, the result is the same) cleared up the problem.

I always play with autosave on from the first round forward. Game was operating fine, and then three new empires appeard in the empire list. These occured due to rebellions on AI controlled planets. As of this point, the game would progress through turns, finish with the "Processing after player turns..." message, and just go to a blank black screen (I have v 1.13 as well). I loaded up the autosave from that round, and the game carried on just fine through my turn. Then, after "Processing, etc etc" for the next turn...blank black screen.
I changed the new empires from AI to player controlled. When they rolled around in the turn queue, it asked for their password like normal. If I enter the password (correct password, incorrect one doesn't really help
) the game crashes to desktop with an access violation error. This does not occure with any of the other AI empires, just with these three that appeard as a result of rebellions (I tested each one in turn).
My guess would be, something is cratering on your game because one of these rebel factions came in to being (or perhaps your empire contracted whatever bug it is that these AI empires have).
