Description
It would be great for both the player and the modder to be able to save, load, and assign ship designs.
For the player, it saves tedium of re-assembling the same design every game.
For the modder, it allows creative outlet, by letting modders enforce specific ship designs. This is the final stage of pre-requisites and requirements, the completely required design.
It might sound odd to suggest support for such a...controversial viewpoint, but it satisfies a need of some of the game's audience.

I, for one, think its a great idea. I tend to use the same designs, especially early in a game.
