Lazy ShipsetsSoumis par Theace le Mar, 2008-09-09 09:11 Space Empires V GeneralI’ve loaded several shipsets. Some work fine but others just sit there. The will talk to me, usually unrelated gibberish, and may build satellites, but no ships. Their worlds are easy to take over because of no resistance, but I want them to work right. I’ve checked their AI and they are identical to the stock races. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? |

I thought it would be interesting to use code injection to change the code system into a 3d- space area with physics engine, or ground combat with physics engine. Currently looking into GPL physics engines. (DX9 graphics, possibly, with hardware rendering? Should speed up load times for combat, and make combat much prettier.) As far as the current rolling, could be replaced with scripted targeting systems, (Similar to overshoot dampening systems that are used in the real world.) Damage is simple enough, we could use pressure damage distribution (Thus possible 'cutting' ships in half with beam weapons) or energy distribution models. Or, we could simply stick with the current damage system. Movement will remain with movement points (It is a very simple relativistic system.) |

Now I have my research levels up so that I should have good troops but what exactly is the order of things to attack like this? I don't want to send a carrier (I assume you build a carrier or maybe a freighter????) with my fleet only to have the rest of my fleet bomb the planet into oblivion... Any tips here would be very nice! Thanks in advance... |
Worlds ModSoumis par battlespud le Mar, 2008-09-09 14:36 SE:V MODsI have a cool idea, a massive sci fi mod, incorporating and balancing all current show/movie/book based mods and adding several new ones, such as Star Trek TNG, The original series and Enterprise. As well as some stuff from Stargate, Andromeda, Halo, Star Wars and other futuristic games. I cant do this alone guys, ive already received one offer of support, i ned at least 8 people to do this.
