Basically, while I was adding "Scientific" achievements to make all Racial technology eventually researchable, I struck upon an idea: Give "scientific" achievements or advances to most other areas to limit the actual upgrades! I'll use Space Yards as an example: In the basic game, Space Yards improve in production capability as well as cost as research into the field occurs... in Kwok's BM this happens less often, but it still occurs where both cost and capability improve. |
Sensor TypesSoumis par Lucifer Domine le Jeu, 2008-07-10 13:01 SE:V MODsI remember from a previous SE game (IV, likely) that there were actually difference "Sensor" categories for sensors... so you could alter cloak levels to have holes or sensors to have holes... is that possible to replicate in SEV? I'm mainly looking to make vehicles with Computers (be it a ship with a Master Computer or a drone/satellite with a standard computer Core) as well as mines be undetectable to Psychic Receptors since they don't have thought patterns. On the counter side I would make cloaking completely useless against them. If this isn't possible the different sensor types are pretty much "fluff" in SEV... a disappointing change. |

I know you can change ownership of ships and planets, just curious if its possible or if someone has tried and verified one can't do this with script functions. |
Question about destroying planets with weapon platformsSoumis par sourman le Jeu, 2008-07-10 20:10 Space Empires V FAQsHi everyone! I just bought SEV a few days ago. It was in the discount bin of a local shop, and since I love 4X games I decided to give it a shot. Been playing with the Balance Mod and so far I'm loving it. I started a game where I'm up against 4 AI opponents. I've already destroyed 2 of them (go me!), but this one is giving me trouble, most of his planets have weapon platforms with huge ranges. My tactics so far have been to just Napalm a planet and then build over the ashes, but with ranges this big my ships won't be able to get close enough before they are destroyed. My question then, is how do you guys usually deal with it? Massive fleets or do you have some other more ingenious way to ensure victory? |
