Tutorial Problems and ...

Two complaints about the tutorial. In a few places the "numbers" given on the tutorial screen don't jive with the actual in game numbers. This is a minor thing, since in playing an actual game the numbers you'll see is what you'll get. However, it does reflect disfavorably on the developer. After all the "patches" that have been made, you would not expect this type of error to still be around.

A much more serious problem: In the tutorial it frequently states that pointing your pointer at a button will reveal what the button does. (The classic "tool tip" mode.) However, that does not work at all, on any of the buttons in the game, and what is worse, it doesn't work in playing a game.

Negative Traits

Hi all,

What are the better negative traits to take? I've noticed that if i don't play a bio race, that a negative there probably doesn't impact me much. What have you all found to work well and why?

Population Growth and Movement

Hi All,

I had a question. Do most of you use freighters to move population from the homeworld to the new colonies in order for them to grow faster or do you just rely on the behind the scenes population movement to take place? Is it better to do on certain colony types over others ? Is your planet's growth affected by how full it is as other games do(once it's 95% full growth slows, etc) making me really want to make sure my HW doesn't have a near max population? Comments?

Just an idea I had.

Ok first of all, I love SE V, its a great game, though I have never played it fairly, I always just activate Alltech and play around that way. Smiling

If this has been done before I am sorry.

Anyways, I had an idea where racial triats could be unlocked during game play.

For instance, the Deeply Religious trait can come in if a coup occurs on your homeworld, and suddenly your current leader is replaced by a religious one, or certain cultural events just push your society to religion (maybe mass plagues, or whatever)

You could unlock Temporal Technology by say, building a special station near or at a black hole, or a warp point. The station researches the odd spatial distortions around the black hole/warp point, and you can unlock Temporal Technology that way.
