Extremely Passive AISoumis par Justascratch le Sam, 2008-11-22 12:12 Space Empires V GeneralI've been playing this game since version III, so I have a pretty good understanding of the basic mechanics of gameplay. I have been playing version V since it's release and updating as releases became available. I have a very fast machine with high-end sound and graphics and 8GB of RAM. My problem is that I can't get the AI to fight. I use all settings to give the AI as much advantage as possible, but during the last 40 or 50 tries of starting a new game, the computer generated players just sit in their home sector. Sometimes 1 or 2 out of a dozen AI empires might venture out, but I've never been able to get the types of games I've enjoyed in the past when the bulk of the AI players were expanding and attacking. |

Pirates & Ninjas Shakedown CruiseSoumis par ekolis le Sam, 2008-11-22 12:37 Space Empires V MultiplayerNo one's joined my game that I advertised over in the mods forum - maybe I'd better advertise it here as well! The game title is "Pirates & Ninjas Shakedown Cruise" and it's using a new mod I based off of Balance Mod 1.16. The mod is inspired by the old Pirates & Nomads, only it's updated for SE5 and the Nomads are replaced with Ninjas for logistical reasons. Join on PBW, and if you want to read more about the mod, check here: http://wiki.spaceempires.net/index.php/Pirates_%26_Ninjas I hope to see some players soon! » Vous devez vous identifier ou créer un compte pour écrire des commentaires |
Goodstart2Soumis par Apple Juice Overload le Sam, 2008-11-22 14:05 Space Empires V After Action Reports
Director Apple looked out the window but didn't see the stunning view from the top floor of the Consortum Headquaters. Instead, its thoughts were focused on the glowing holomap behind it. Blazing in emerald green were the colonised star systems of the AJO Consortium. The past 40 months had seen an unrivalled expansion into the neighbouring star systema and have brought tremendous wealth to all the shareholders in the Consortium. The stock markets were rocketing upwards and the whole empire was filled with an exuberant optimism. Director Apple, however, did not share the blind optimism of most of its species. Bitter experience from our past has shown that such rapid expansion is never sustainable. All the star systems have now been occupied and we now share borders with many other alien empires. Although our dealings with them have been mostly peaceful with great profits reaped from trade agreements, Director Apple was certain that such peace is merely an illusion. Expansionist empires are never content and only a fool would believe that they will not resort to violence to satisfy their need for continued expansion. Whether driven by greed, fear, ambition, religious intolerance or some unfathomable alien motivation, it doesn't matter for the result is the same. War. The fine balance between the empires cannot hold for much longer. The coming months will be very interesting |
Quantum Reactor bug?Soumis par Dterror le Sam, 2008-11-22 22:01 Space Empires V GeneralI have SEV 1.74, just patched to this version last week. In my current game, I have a light carrier with 40 fighters guarding a WP. The carrier is equipped with 4x ordinance vat and 4x Quantum Reactor. The Carrier can hold up to 22000 supply, and only sees combat about once every 5 or 6 turns. I have no problem at all maintaining full ordinance for the fighters, but the carrier was LOSING 1520 supply each turn instead of generating it. The system the Carrier is protecting is a nebula, so a solar collector would be useless. I don't remember the QR draining supplies like this in the previous version, nor do I remember which version I had before. Is there a way to fix this bug? |
