Why is it every space game has you building dinky ships and dinkier spacestations... and you can't do any of the *cool* stuff that sci fi gives us? Oh, and also the flat, afterthought diplomacy sucks. So im all patched up and I have my balance mod installed, as per reccomendations. What I want to know is: Are there mods that the community considers practically vital for single-player games? Things that really expand on weaknesses or circumvent problems? Or should I play the game my way first... and then search for what I need? |
Mining and percentageSoumis par bpleshek le Dim, 2008-06-29 00:21 Space Empires V FAQsHi all, I have some mines on a 150% planet. The manual says that on a standard game, i should get my mining tech amount per mine times the bonus. As I MOSTLY use solar arrays on 2 and 3 star systems to gather all my minerals, i usually don't have a problem. But on my new game, i have only found 1 2-star system and i'm running low and so i decided to place the entire huge planet with mineral mine facilities(they're level 1). So that should be 3000 x 1.50 = 4500 minerals per facility per turn. Then i look at my abilities tab on the planet report and i'm only getting the 3000 not 4500 per mine. What gives? |

Component leveling errorSoumis par Isopsyco le Dim, 2008-06-29 14:25 SE:V MODsI have a bug in my mod that I don't know what the issue is (possible SEV issue?): I have several components similar named (KEW Canons with mark series) and available when projectile tech is researched further, the problem starts when you reach enough tech in projectile to get the second mark series and it starts at level 100, not 1 or even at the current level of projectile tech level. Anyone see or hear something similar and does anyone have an idea what causes or will fix it? The component: [code] |
Supply ShipsSoumis par bpleshek le Dim, 2008-06-29 15:59 Space Empires V FAQsHi all, If i want to make a supply ship(supplies and ordinance), do i use a freighter with lots of storage compartments or a regular ship with lots of ordinance and supply parts on it? Thanks, Brian |

Combat viewer problem: Some models not showingSoumis par Isopsyco le Dim, 2008-06-29 19:03 Space Empires V GeneralHere is the situation: Have several empires with same Xfile ship set, some models can be viewed (player in my case) and others from the opposing empire can not! Tried different configurations and it seems to be the custom ship sets at risk since I could get the stock ones to render ingame. Example: made colony ship exactly like an opposing empires, put it in the combat viewer and mine displayed but the opposing empires did not. No error saying bitmap or xfile not loaded, just a blank spot where a model should be displayed. If you select via clicking on it, it shows up in the stat box. |

Updates for IA and EA shipsetsSoumis par BlackSwan le Dim, 2008-06-29 20:45 Space Empires V GeneralI've notice some of the ships aren't fully textured in the IA set so here are updated files. The B5 starbase has been redone too as it was always a disappoint to me. The colony, frigate, destroyer and cruiser ships now have their textures applied completely. The B5 starbase has been reworked. |
