Combat replay broken?Soumis par M--5 le Sam, 2008-04-05 23:21 Space Empires V GeneralFor the past several turns, the multiplayer simultaneous turn game I am running won't open the combat replays. There's a file, but it's not working. We started with BM 1.13, now are running 1.71 + BM 1.14a. Any ideas? I thought all of this was save-game compatible. |

component picturesSoumis par mnmib1 le Dim, 2008-04-06 04:22 SE:V MODsI am trying to create a new component for sev. I have modified the components.txt to point to component 309, it works fine except for the pictures. The component name shows in the list on the left for ship design, but the picture does not, nor does it show in the inventory slot even though I can place it (it's just a blank spot). If I right click on the blank space under the component name it will bring up the description with the picture in it. I have a 512x512 jpeg, 128x128 bmp, and a 42x42 bmp for the index. I also tried 36x36 because I read that might be the correct size in some forum somewhere. |

Capture Pod SpeedSoumis par Deathstalker le Dim, 2008-04-06 11:45 SE:V MODsAnyone been able to find the entry that controls the speed that the capture pod (boarding parties) flies at? I've been modding a bit and my ships have greatly varying speeds and sometimes fly much faster than the pod. I'd love to be able to control the speed at wich the pod flies as well as maybe change it depending on the level of the boarding parties. |
Disappearing Supply and Ordnance on fightersSoumis par glockgemini le Dim, 2008-04-06 17:16 Space Empires V General171 with BM114, full tech game For simplicity sake I usually use fighters with organic electrical weapons. For some more punch to weapons platforms, I'm trying to use rocket pods, which require ordnance. They were all loaded up when I put them on the carrier but when I took them into planet combat the first time, they had no supply or ordnance. Okay, I pulled out of combat and had supply ships come in to fill them up but when they are on the carrier they won't accept any ordnance so I move them off the carrier and load them up. This wipes out the supply on the carrier crippling it for the rest of the turn. I fill the carrier up with supply and load the fighter back on. |
Dumb QuestionSoumis par Kunsgnos le Dim, 2008-04-06 17:45 Space Empires V MultiplayerI love space empires and have been playing since SE3 but I for some reason have never played multiplayer. I was telling my friend about the game and he wanted to play with me. he asked. "you can play online right?" and a vetren of years said. "...I think so." so hear I am. How do you play online? and please keep in mind I'm not that computer savvy so please in the name of all thats good keep it simple. Thanks in advance. |
unique or racial technologiesSoumis par mnmib1 le Dim, 2008-04-06 18:21 SE:V MODsMe again. If I make a new replacement component for a race, is there a way to remove the stock version of the component from that races tech tree only. Example: I made a new bridge (new picture, new name, no other changes at this time), that I want the new race to use exclusively. It shows up and it works fine, but so does the stock bridge. Eventually I want to make custom componenets for all my races, but first I just want to seperate them (renaming, new pics). Later down the road I'll start changing stats for each component per race. I made a racial tech trait called general tech that I thought I could use so the other races could use the stock bridge but not my new race. If I pick the techs thats fine, but how do I get neutral races to pick this "general tech trait"? Any help would be appreciated. |
