Not bothering to officially report this fleet bugSoumis par Unole le Mer, 2008-01-30 09:03 Bug ReportsJust a warning to all: Don't VIEW fleet orders when the fleet is transitting a warp point. Read error crash every time. I like to know where my fleets are headed off to and it took me a while to retrain myself to NOT push "V" when the fleet was warping. LOL You can view single ship's orders, just not the fleet orders. I guess there's too damm many things going on at the exit and the program gets a knot in it and dies. Like I said in the title, it's currently not worthy of attention. |
Creating Diplomatic Racial TraitsSoumis par unnamed le Mer, 2008-01-30 18:56 SE:V MODsNot sure if anyone else is interested in this; however, I've managed to create racial traits that increase or decrease the inherent anger races have for each other. I used stand in abilities that are not in use (like culture), for the ability in the racial trait. Then I had the code look for that ability (culture) and if so, give the appropriate bonus or penalty to anger. Its part of my attempts to increase the range of racial traits available to choose from and create races that truly feel different. I plan to release these new traits (over 150 new ones) pretty soon after my next mod release with races taught to use them. |

I've had my starts so far include cluster/medium/warp point connected and anywhere in the system. But it's the starting resources, tech and racial points that have me debating. I made my custom empire, but am rethinking some of my choices. I used game setting the are mid-ranged. And the tech points I am wondering where best they can be spent. Of course 200k need to be spent on a colony module type. I placed the rest kind of around to give a strong start in a couple of areas. Like engine techs, space yards, armor, PD, etc. But I am wondering if those points would just be best spent only on applied research. |
