New: Exodus ModSoumis par Khyron le Dim, 2008-01-20 05:31 SE:V MODsFrom way back when I first heard of Stars!Supernova I wanted to play a game where you had to evacuate your homeworld then pick up the pieces and take over the universe. Here is my feeble attempt to mod just that. Premise: Just as your race starts to take it's first steps into the vastness of space your scientists discover your home star will explode destroying everything in the system within a few years. Basics: On or before the game year 2404 all players suns will explode wiping out anything left in there. One small glimmer of hope is that it doesn't look like it will happen until after 2401 at the earliest. The log will relay critical information including a last minute warning 1 to 4 months before the worst happens (check the entire log they will appear as the last item each turn). |

The only two functions that give me distance (three, but the third tells me where a SY is) distance between two hex/sectors and the other between two systems. the problem with the distance between two systems is that its measured in how many systems one must traverse to get from A to B. I want to play a game with my roommate on different machines over your standard tcp/ip connection (ie, the internet). We regularly do this with many games, including civ4, but are unable to get it to work with SEV. What we have - game installed and running fine on 3 machines, internet, etc Multiplayer settings, I believe, are correct - i choose host, name a save file, select tcp/ip, and click begin. he does the same and chooses player. so on and so forth. once in the multiplayer setup screen (after he has entered my correct ip and port information) i click "wait for players" |

end of turn hang's ruined yet another epic game!Soumis par Zaeren le Dim, 2008-01-20 19:27 Bug ReportsHi, just thought I would post that yet another of my games,(ver. 1.66, BM. 1.12), has repeatably and permanently hung itself at end of turn processing. The game is on a large map with medium number of players, on medium difficulty, I'm using the gorn shipset(properly editted text), and there are no other custom shipsets installed. My pc is a pentium 4 ht at 3 ghz, 2.5 gigs dual channel ram, ati 9600 w/128 megs on board. Many turns into the game it just hangs about 95-98% through the "blue bar". I was going to post a save game but I never have before and can't figure out how to place it in my post. |

politics and society planetSoumis par crimson le Dim, 2008-01-20 22:28 Space Empires V GeneralHi, I was thinking about how people state that after you build up a planet that there is nothing else to do with it. Well I was thinking what not add politics and society to the game by adding bills to the game equal to building with zero size and alot of cost. You could creat problem and events using the event script and answer the problem with the a bill. Oh and have this effect each planet in your empire using a random value. Also have this setup so it does not effect the AI. Tell me what you guys and lady think. He ponders the dangers inherent in the advantages, and advantages inherent in the dangers. - Ts'ao Ts'ao |
