Number of AI players moddable?Soumis par MondoMage le Sam, 2007-12-01 06:57 Space Empires V GeneralI'm playing BM1.11 and the latest SEV patch (1.63?) Early on in my SEV playing, I decided that I didn't like the number of AI players I was being placed against in the single player game (amongst other things), so I went into settings.txt (in the BM 1.10+ folder) and changed the numbers a bit, to reflect my tastes. Namely, lots of neutrals (9 or 10 for each setting, low, medium, or high), and what I feel to be an appropriate number of "main" AI races as well. Problem is, the number of races I'm seeing still doesn't match what should be appearing according to settings.txt. The last game I generated have 5 neutrals and 3 main races, when it should have been at least 9 neutrals and 5 main races. |

Ramming PlanetsSoumis par Harmonious Hegemony le Sam, 2007-12-01 13:22 Space Empires V GeneralI'm playing a balance mod game and I just had an enemy colony ship ram a planet on which I had a newly established colony of my own. It took out the entire colony. Now I can understand a colony ship ramming another ship when it is not going to survive in any case, but suiciding all of its colonists into a planet? Why wouldn't it just move on to live, establish its own colony and fight another day. And should one ship ramming into a planet take out an entire colony? Dirty rotten bloodthirsty AI. |
Mixed species planets & facillity bonusSoumis par obliwobly le Sam, 2007-12-01 15:37 Space Empires V GeneralWhy is it that planets are only maximally exploitable if you get rid of all species not able to breath the atmosphere? This doesnt seem right to me. Surely that is the wrong logic, and it also forces laborious population movement, because in order to boost planets already colonised with your start race you have to move all the colonists off, or worse.... scrap them !!! I hope I don't need to remind you that this is immoral. But besides that it doesn't make sense because if you have any amount of the appropriate atmosphere breathing species as population then they can exploit all the planet. Having non breathers present among them will not inhibit them so why doesnt this condition allow the bonus? All you should need to do is drop a seed population on the planet, or even have them migrate as they do in the BM game I am playing and that should be enough to gain the X5 facillity space bonus without having to "get rid of" the encumbent population of non-breathers. |

I need to create some new pictures for various images in the game. Does anyone know if there's some free program I can use to create the images? If not, does anyone want to take requests for the most basic picture in the world? |
