Simultaneous game novement: questionSoumis par Shamash le Mar, 2007-11-06 03:05 Space Empires V GeneralLet's say you start a new turn with a ship on a warp point which you want to enter to explore an unknown system. Are there any means by which you can (1) pass through the point into the new system in the same turn? This has probably already been answered but I can't find where. Thanks anyway. |

optional techs (organic/crystal etc)Soumis par Aurore le Mar, 2007-11-06 12:14 Space Empires V GeneralSorry or the n00b question, but I have been looking at these and wondering what they are for and if they are much of an advantage. Organic for instance seems to save you research points by letting you research weapons in a single tech that youd have to research several techs for. But on the other hand the weapons are about half as good as the ones from specific techs. The parasite does half the damage of a standard missile at same tech (though it does use half the supplies and ordinance and fire 20% faster) so against a ship armed with true missiles it would be hopelessly outclassed. The other weapons are similar - direct fire weapons in specific tech areas are much better if Im not missing something. Organic armour looks like a good idea but the ratio of mass to atructure is less than 20% as effective as standard armour. |
AI Script, planet max population capacity (or "Earth that was could no longer sustain our numbers, we were so many.")Soumis par Gideon le Mar, 2007-11-06 12:57I was rather surprised to find out that the AI script has no system function to get the maximum population capcity for a planet. So, I made my own. I hope someone finds this useful. » en lire plus | Le blogue de Gideon | Vous devez vous identifier ou créer un compte pour écrire des commentaires | 1 fichier attaché |

AlliancesSoumis par inigma le Mar, 2007-11-06 16:34 Space Empires V GeneralIn BM is the AI smart enough to form alliances of multiple empires? I'd love to see if groups of AI could learn to work together. I have yet to see alliances formed by the AI, let alone multiple alliances duking it out. Also I was wondering how a alliance could declare war against other empires/alliances. I didn't see any such option. |
Random structure abilities...Soumis par Gideon le Mar, 2007-11-06 18:24 SE:V MODsWhen I have some spare time (HA!) I need to run an experiment. However, if anyone knows the answer to this already, just shout it out. If I give the abilities on a facility a formula that incorporates random number generation, then when is that number generated? - Every game (value is set at the start of game and doesn't change for the rest of that game) - Every structure build (value is set when structure is built, and doesn't change for the life of that structure) - Every turn (value is set at the beginning of the turn, and doesn't change until the next turn is processed) - Every examine (value is set every time you look at the thing) |
Questions about intel and certain componentsSoumis par madman22 le Mar, 2007-11-06 20:08 Space Empires V FAQsJust a few gameplay/strategy questions. 1. I am trying to offset an AI opponents intel attacks, does the higher amount of intel points automatically succeed each time? Also, are there any ways to bolster my intel defense other than increasing overall intel points? 2. Do cloaking/stelth benefits enhance one another? In other words, does it take a higher level of sensor to detect a cloaked ship in an asteroid field than a cloaked ship in open space? Can you combine stealth armor and cloaks to make your ship harder to detect? 3. What are the benefits/detriments of the different weapons? Why use uranium cannons rather than energy pulse or energy stream weapons, etc? |
Colonial MagistratesSoumis par Gideon le Mar, 2007-11-06 20:36Investigate the possibility of a Colonial Magistrate object, like the Colonial Ministers in Pax Imperia 2. |
