Question about this site and logging in

Sorry if this is not the place for this post, but i'm a little frustrated. Can some one tell me why i have so many problems logging into this site. I put in my name then password, and it even shows me on the current user list, but it never lets me submit a question or a reply unless i log in, which i do again and the same repeats. i always have to get an email for a temp password to beable to post new questions, always.Right now in the upper left column of this site is my user name,a list of news choices and my image gallery,my account, inbox, etc. But when i try to log in tommarrow, i'll type my name , password, and those things wont be there and i wont beable to post questions...again. beleive it or not, i've been a member for over a year, but due to the constant new password problem, i just got tired of trying to ask and just read posts. well now i'm pissed off and so i made the post. Can someone tell me what is wrong and why i have to keep getting this password thing sent to post and how i can fix this problem. i'd like to atleast ask a question with out going thru this new password thing everytime, lol ty for help

Window mode size?

I need to know how to change the size of windowed mode..its currently a small speck on my 20 inch widescreen..which makes it a bit difficult to use.

I'm sure i saw a forumpost about it, but the rather sucky search engine didn't yield any results.

Anyone got a clue..and methinks this forum needs some stickies.

So, I've been wracking my brains about a problem I've been having.

In my mod, the AI builds units on planets. I've been having a pecuiliar problem with this. Namely, that it will only build satellites one at a time...EVER...

After messing with numbers, changing various things (and swearing a lot) I tracked the issue's origination to the following function:

Tips and suggestions for noobs

Thought it might be nice to start a topic where experienced players can post little tips to help new/inexperienced players. I will get the ball rolling with a suggestion on facility construction.

When choosing which planets to build what facilities on, I suggest remembering that certain facilities receive bonuses for population. When I have a planet that has a small max pop (small or tiny domed planets) and low resource value, I usually place my Space Port and any Storage Facilities on that planet. This helps keep my larger planets open for facilities such as Research and Intelligence.

Help Editing the AI assistance

I like the game, but neither Masters of Orion 1, 2, or even 3 drove me up the wall with this much micro-manging. Of course, you could script those or have as much detailed control about what your 'ministers' did.

The problem, I'm about 50 turns in have well over 20 colonies dedicated to research alone, over 200K research with the pitiful amount of labs built/being upgraded. So I have tech levels rolling in by the turn, I'm ahead of my competitors in tech by the hundreds of tech levels. Which means every turn or two, to keep up-to-date, I have to cycle though every colony, eventuate how the system was built, Identify old elements in construction cues, and upgrade existing structures. Something the minister 'should' be good at doing for me.

My Light Gunship design

I use a level 3 frigate design which I named Light Gunship. The basic design is a lightly armored frigate with max movement and 4 DUCs. I do not use Combat Sensors to help keep cost, construction time down and to free up space for more supplies and ordinance. I normally group this ship into squadrons of 4, then combine 2-4 squadrons into small fleets. Against the AI these ships seem very effective during the early stages of the game, especially against races with the Crystalline trait and Shard Cannons. I am just curious to see if others use a similar design and if you use Combat Sensors on all of your combat ships.

Just wanted to make a quick introduction. I'm Huwie, and I'm completely new to the Space Empires series. My girlfriend bought me SEV recently and after about 50 turns I'm loving it!

I do have a question. Is there anything that, as a completely new player, you think I ought to know? I'm aware of certain mods, especially with regard to AI, but I plan to play through a medium-sized galaxy at least once with the vanilla version first just to get a feel for things. But any other info you feel I should have would be most welcome. Thanks!

Combat Reports

I'm coming across 2 bugs with combat reports (running 1.63 & BM1.11)

1) In the news, where it says empire xxx has forward on the following combat report, it doesn't give details of where the report is from. Also in my combat logs it doesn't show any combat from that empire.

2) I can't replay combat reports that i haven't been involved in but which i got a report on (i presume i should be able).

Anyone else come across this.

Also, where's the best place to report these bugs..
