BUG in saving AI controlled setting for user-created Empires

I have noticed that when I take the time to carefully construct an Empire, choose the appropriate minister and then check the "AI Controlled" box (to ensure the Empire will be controlled for this particular game by the computer), that after I save the Empire for future games/usage the "AI Controlled" box becomes UNCHECKED when I load the Empire.

I have double-checked to make sure the "AI Controlled" box is checked, and then selected "save Empire to file". This is not a big deal when playing by yourself, but, say I want to create an Empire that others can compete against - the problem then, is that if the Empire is password-protected, one has to then supply the password in order to allow the player to edit the Empire so that the "AI Controlled" box can be checked again!!!

'No Tactical Combat'

I've started two games so far with this checked. But what is it supposed to do? I can't see that it has any effect. I had assumed it would end the space tactical combat option, and run more like a multi player game. But I still have full control and turn interuption.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this in reference to something else?

Supply usage of Afterburners, Shields & Regenerators

I've been wandering - how do Shield Regenerators use supplies? As in, if it says "Supply Usage = 10" in the components.txt data file, does that mean it'd cost 10 to regenerate the shields from 0->100%? Or is it not implemented at all?

For that matter, what would happen if regular Shield Generators were given a "Supply Usage > 0"? What about Afterburners? Do they use their Supply cost just at the start of combat?

1. Fixed - Slight script error.
2. Fixed - Population was reproducing too fast when migration treaty was in effect.
3. Fixed - Queue types should not contain accumulated resources.
4. Fixed - Queue types were bypassing requirements.
5. Fixed - Space and ground units were regenerating their shields and armor too fast.

All right, who deleted the exploit post??? I was just about to congratulate the original poster for doing the right thing (along with a short rant against "security by obscurity" as Romulus68 proposed) but in the meantime the thread got deleted... WTF?!? Now only an elite few (those lucky enough to have read the post) can take advantage of the exploit, and if anyone in that group happens to feel like taking advantage of the exploit, no one will be the wiser!

Can the limit for space yard's be removed?

I was wondering if the limit on space yards can be removed (for both component and facility) because it never made much sense to me to even have a limit. I mean irl you could have a base or planet with multiple construction facilities so why limit it on the game? What would also be awesome is if you could gave multiple space yard components/facilities and have each of them be able to construct.

Empire Selection Algorithm Question

I have been noticing that the empires that the game selects for AI opponents tend to lean heavily toward the top of the list (lowest in alphabetical order). That means that in almost all of the games I play I end up seeing the Breen, Conflux, Cardassian and so on. It is rare for empires from lower down on the list, such as the Xoronn, XiChung, Tholian, etc. to ever show up. I am playing the Balance Mod. My question is does the game make any attempt to randomize the empires it selects? It doesn't appear so, and in this case what can be done to see some of these other empires (other than to

Cannot see buttons at main screen

Well i lost my SEIV Gold CD and i just found it today and installed it and downloaded 2 patches witch are version 1.84 and version 1.94 i upgraded and when i launch the game i cant see one button at all there all blank, even when i know where the new game button is and i click it and go to the next screen its all blank there as well.

anyone got any idea's to what has happened?
