Can the Strategies.txt be edited so that capital ship missiles are targeted?Soumis par hdd_online le Mer, 2007-11-07 06:10 Space Empires V GeneralIs it possible to edit the strategies.txt file so that capital ship missiles are targeted? I have a vision of doing away with pd on my attack ships and leaving this duty to a figther screen, but I can't find an example of how to do this. Also, I was wondering if (on the off-chance that I'm brave enough to be owned by everyone younger and older than me who plays multi-player) you can use custom strategies in a multi-player game, or do you need to stick to the strategies defined by the host? |

There's no way that I know of to select a happiness type for your empire, yet if there are errors in the file the game won't load. I *think* that AI empires have happiness types set by their AI scripts - so how the heck do you set your own happiness type when you create a custom empire??? |
Neutral Race ShipsetSoumis par jars_u le Mer, 2007-11-07 13:23 Space Empires V GeneralIs there an easy way to make the Neutral Race Shipset, I believe listed as "Default" in the Empires folder available for use when creating a *.emp file in a custom game? If I understand the file structure correctly I could say copy the Terran folder into a new folder and then copy the files from Default into the new folder and painstakingly rename each of the associated files "new_folder_fighter.jpg" etc. essentially creating a new empire but there must be a better way. Weaknes of special weaponsSoumis par Alpedar le Mer, 2007-11-07 14:54 Space Empires V GeneralSpecial weapons (targeting specific systems, like engines, shields, weapons, ...) do nothing to shields and (at least those i tried) does not work through them. You must drop enemy shields before using such weapon. At least in BM11 they work through armor (don't know whether they are affected by emissive armor). And here comes another thing. They fire regardless whether target hass shield or not and they have long recharge time (waste recharge time and ordonance/supply). All combined, they are MUCH less effective than their numbers sugests. |

For example, If a group of people is playing a hotseat game and meets every few days to play, and one of them is missing, then it either stalls the game at their turn (if using passwords) or allows the others to inadvertently see their territory while skipping the turn. So there should be a skip turn button that either requires the game master password or no password at all (and asks "are you sure" before skipping the turn). To enable this feature for the game should be optional. Or is this already possible and I just can' |
