 <title>Suorce Filter Troubles</title>

 <title>SEIV and Linux (via Wine) Woes</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;I am attempting to run SEIV on Linux through Wine, a program that allows one to run Windows games on Linux machines. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The demo worked great, but I purchased the registered version via Strategy First yesterday and the game won&#039;t run because the Internet-based registration system doesn&#039;t work. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Whenever I try to run the game (se4.exe) I get an error saying &quot;error while unpacking program, code C. Please report to author.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I attempted to get around this problem by booting into Windows and installing it there. I did this without incident (i.e., the Internet-based registration worked seamlessly) and then copied the  Windows game directory over to Linux and attempted to run it.  <title>Its Time To Say Good Bye</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The amount of people playing SE IV has dropped off dramatically over the last two years to the point that the game is for all intents and purposes, dead. It has been milked for every last cent that it can produce and unless Aaron is willing to revisit the game and fix some of the glaring remaining bugs, so thing that he is not likely going to do, then its a safe bet to say that SE IV is past its prime and now on its last days if not already dead.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So why not get Aaron to release the source code for SE IV and let the modding community have at it?  <title>Invasion! Beta 0.60 Released</title>

&lt;p&gt;Beta 0.6 marks a large step for the mod with the addition of complete working AI for normal and monster races. It also does a fair ammount of monster balacing to address issues that had shown up in the now defunct pbw games I was running. Multiplex tracking has been changed a bit, all hulls have a base tracking ammount this ammount can only be increased by turning over control of the ship to a Master Computer. Also I have tried to push each hull size closer to having a more specific role.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Alternate fonts?</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Okay, here&#039;s an odd question:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Is it possible to change the font for only a single race? I want to use the Borak shipset because they resemble classic UFO Grays. I&#039;ve found a font that look a lot like alien-crop-circle symbols and it would be swell if I could use it to rename my ships. I&#039;d like to use it in a pbw game and not disturb the other players.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I&#039;m going to guess the answer is no, but I figured I&#039;d ask..&lt;/p&gt;</description>

 <title>Multiple Installs</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;I want to install a second copy of SE:IV in another directory for a pbw-mod game. Despite being a long time player, I&#039;m not sure if I&#039;m doing it right and don&#039;t want to mess up my original install. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Actually, my original CD has that bug where autoplay wants to reinstall it every time I put it in, so I guess I could just designate a new folder, but if I want to patch it up to Deluxe, will the patch know where to go? I don&#039;t want to overwrite anything I&#039;ve had installed since the dawn of time. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Has any one ever seen a &quot;Points - Change&quot; event work?</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;I have been modding SE4 for a while now and playing it too. My mod is going to be an extensive overhaul of the graphics and the game combined with some modified ideas from existing mods. I am about half way done now. This mod will change just about everything and make &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight:bold&quot;&gt;ALL&lt;/span&gt; of the graphics better. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It is my intention to add over 100 new events with new pictures in addition to the events that have been added by various other mods.  <title>Imperium Verus</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Just a question for anyone that has played this mod before - does it have point defense weapons at all? I&#039;ve researched quite a few things and still have no tech area for it and none of the weapons I&#039;ve researched have a version of one.  I wouldn&#039;t mind so much but that leaves Seekers having no counter whatsoever.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;1) Build missile boat&lt;br /&gt;
2) Use a max weapons range/don&#039;t get hurt strategy&lt;br /&gt;
3) ...&lt;br /&gt;
4) profit&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Anyone have a clue about this?&lt;/p&gt;</description>
