Alien assimiliation

Trithemius's picture
Submitted by Trithemius on Sat, 2006-10-28 23:37. Space Empires V FAQs

I have been curious about how long it takes for aliens to become assimiliated into my empire. I have conquered a few neutrals (they never returned my calls! Eye-wink) and one rival power and I am still waiting for the populations allegiance symbol to change to my own. How long is normal? What can I do to speed things up?

Ships & Troops

Maybe you could put assign additional troops and ships to your occupied planets. Apparantly they raise the happiness rating of your empire's planets, so maybe they can convert your newfound aliens into common citizens. Beyond that, I wouldn't much about it.

Set up a Police-State with

Submitted by LordHavoc on Tue, 2006-10-31 04:47.

Set up a Police-State with total authority to the army. Have once per week food rations and serve only soylent green. Then when the populace tries to break into a riot, allow the police/army the authority to deal with the riot using large scooping trucks to scoop the people in to lorries to be 'processed'.

And Taggants

And add micro-robot taggants to the soilant green; once eaten, they ID the DNA, report their position, and can be ordered to recycle their host on demand.

Amusing...

But mostly unhelpful. Are there any hard numbers on this? Or is it easily revealed if I start poking around in files?

If you control their worlds

If you control their worlds you control their worlds their population will remain the same.

But there is a Civic that allows faster "assimilation", and your government model effects this as well. I was just wondering what the "average" time was for a planetary population to become assimilated was? Or does this simply determine the amount of migration?

Bump

I'm wondering about this as well. Hate having to tie up all those troops and maintenance resources trying to assimilate the Bugs.

I do not know the math, it

Submitted by Zaphod on Sun, 2006-11-19 18:52.

I do not know the math, it depends on culture and government. It happens when the flag of a race popuation on a planet becomes yours. I have two seperate populations of one race on a few worlds one with the native flag and another my own. I have however, not made a dent on a conquered homeword population.

Just a theory, as i normally

Submitted by LordHavoc on Sun, 2006-11-19 18:58.

Just a theory, as i normally wipe a planet.

Doesn't assimilation take longer with larger populations. So couldn't you just stuff all of your pop into cargo containers and just leave 1-2M on the planet. When they are happy just dump the stored population back. Since transported population inherits the settings of the target planet.
