How do you see the entire tech tree?

Submitted by Teran Solo on Sat, 2006-10-28 11:10. Space Empires V General

I have my game set so the entire tech tree is visible to players. How do I actually see that inside the game?

heya Capt. that is a nice addiiton n I'd really like to see it. (also let me thank you for your mod work.. I havn't 'delved in yet, but I plan to and it looks like you've done a lot of work on that frontier,)

Anyway, when I folow that link, I come to a page, that won't load the grafixs (no loss,) but the link to the .pdf file take me back to the same page... with no pdf...

can you help? or is it just me heh, that seems like an invaluable resource for the learner.

Woops. I had added an extra slash on the link and it killed it. Sticking out tongue

Thanks for the link to the .pdf, but I already had that and in any event it doesn't answer my original question at all. I would rather not have to switch between windows or have to refer to a separate piece of paper when playing SEV.

Again, my question is: if you set the game up to have the tech tree visible, how do you see the entire tech tree within the game interface?

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Is there an answer to this question?

As far as I know you don't ever get to see all the tech tree in game (If you do not start with all techs).

When I want to check the tech tree I start a game with the same settings and then use alltech cheat. You have to allow cheats in your testing game. The term cheat in this case is a misnomer since all you're doing is allowing yourself in another game to see the tech trees. In the game click on the ? in the bar at top and you can read all the tech info, as well as components, facilities etc.

to use a code press `, then type alltech. press ` again to turn it on.

No one else mentioned it so excuse me if mentioning cheats is forbidden. As I said, in a multiplayer game cheats are disabled so in the case of a single player one run by yourself who's really cheating?

Addendum: actually sorry. I didn't register that you said you didn't want to be switching between programs (ie. Different sessions)

The entire stock tech tree is in an appendix in the PDF manual, but that opens in a new window, too.
