2 total Noob questions

Submitted by Mork on Fri, 2006-10-27 12:43. Space Empires V General

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to figure out a few things about this game:

1. Is there a way to retrofit more than one ship at once. As soon as I select more than one ship my retrofit button greys out. I'm hoping there's a way to do it, but I can't find it.
Would be nice if there was a way to upgrade all ships of a certain design to another all at once...

2. How do I get rid of all those pesky enemy colony ships hovering above my conquered planets? It happens that I destroy all enemy fighting ships, invade a planet, while a single colony ship of the enemy remains in orbit. I'm unable to destroy these colony ships because every time I attack them they're at the edge of the grid and time runs out before I can reach it (and that's with ships packed to the max with engines superior to those of the enemy.
As long as there's an enemy ship in orbit around my planet I have to attack the planet in order to enter orbit myself with my ships/fleets.

Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks

For #1) Make sure you are

For #1) Make sure you are only selecting ships of the same class (i.e. Freighter, Destroyer, Colony Ship, etc) and then try it. I haven't tried multi-retrofit in SE:V but that is how it worked in SE:IV

2) From what I understand, use 'Sector View' to position your ships close to the colony ship before combat starts. Also having some seeker type weapons (Capital Ship Missiles, etc) will help out in this endeavor.

Multi retrofit isn't working

Multi retrofit isn't working in SEV yet. I hope it's on their to-do list.

Ahhh. that would explain it

Ahhh. that would explain it then Smiling

I have been using my older designs as cannon fodder and only retrofitting one at a time as resources allow (mainly due to the ordnance bug, I don't want to make fleets of ships with different ordnance capacities)

Retrofit more ship

Submitted by Lastdreamer on Fri, 2006-10-27 19:46.

I've founded how to retrofit more than onme ship... create a fleet and put all the ship you want to retrofit in it. Make attention to put in only the ship you want to retrofit. Then retrofit one ship, and you'll find that it retrofit all of the same class ship (example: all frigate)
