Ordanences... WHAT!? |
Okay this is freaking me out. I have 5 Dreadnoughts built, and I just transferred them all to the same fleet with full Ordanence. But now as I look at them, all of their ordanences put together is at 500-600 units out of around 40-50 thousand. What's the deal here?
So you have to move the
So you have to move the ships one at a time?
What would be some examples of Non Ordanace weapons. Energy based ones?

That's it.

I'm wondeting, did the balance mod fix this?
I thought that I read somewhere that the balance mod fixed ordenance issues.. however, I'm not sure if that was just so that AI would load their ships with ordenance, or if it fixed it so that you could group a fleet, and not lose your ordenance.
Any one know?
thanks,

Workaround
It's not really a bug that can be "fixed" by modding, but the Balance Mod has added some ordnance regeneration ability to ordnance storage components to help reduce the problem.

Fleet Ordenance Bug Workaround.
Ahh,
cool deal, thanks for a) doing the work, and b) the clarification!

I just noticed that as long
I just noticed that as long as my fleets are in "enemy territory" ( i.e. no colonies of mine ) they didn't lose any of the ordinance they brought with them ( outside of combat usage ). But the turn after I moved my fleet back into "friendly territory" the fleet started losing ordinance again every turn. So my suggestion is to keep your ships together but not in a fleet until you move into neutral or hostile space and then put them into a fleet. Sure it's tedious, but it will have to do for now until ( hopefully ) the next patch fixes it.
As an aside, this particular bug totally breaks the game since the A.I. isn't programmed to figure out what's going on. Only the A.I. empires that use weapons without ordinance requirements are any challenge at all even on hard. I just had an enemy fleet of about 20 frigates attempt an attack on an undefended colony of mine. Since the ships had no ordinance for their weapons the fleet immediately started running away from the colony! So what would normally have been a brilliant coup by the A.I. with the potential of pushing deep into an undefended corner of my empire got turned into a silly rout. All I have to do is build about 5 fighters on that planet now and I can wipe out 20 defenseless frigates with them before they escape back to their home space! And that's a pitiful shame.
just my 2 cents
I Want The 58th In My Sky And Raining Fire!!
actually
Organic foes can actually put up a fight since they use the ordnance vats that generate ordinance... now if they'd only put point defense on thier dreads lol...
no you can multi-select a stack
ships can be moved by stack even though they're not fleets... And they seem to adopt formations, oddly enough.

Moving multiple ships at once question...
Can't you move multiple ships at once by first selecting all of them and then issuing a move command

Multiple Ship Move
Yes but you have to be careful to make sure they all have the same amount of movement points or some will drop out and be left behind when they run out of points.

it's a bug, will be fixed in
it's a bug, will be fixed in the next patch.
for now eaither don't fleet, or use non ordnance using weapons.
