How does a planet get 'resupplied' after depleting its supply stockpile while resupplying ships? Does it automatically generate a certain amount each turn or do I have to manually resupply it somehow?

Do planets without resupply depots have a small supply generation capacity, or are they just holding the supplies my colony ship dropped off when it colonized the planet? I've never really taken the time to look into this very far...

They are just hold the supplies from when you built the colony.
Supply Depo
Planetary supply depos produce supplies for planets, as well as an amount that is distributed across the entire system where needed.
