FEATURE: I want a better political interface |
The current interface is god-stupid. I start the game and why should a treatying with provisions about creating black-holes matter to me??
More importantly, how do I know what the AIs are willing to give up, what they want, what they'll trade for, what treaty provisions they want and hate, what technologies they have for trade, and everything else? I'd like to see a status bar fill up one way with green for their positives and red for negatives - of course I'd also want the relative values listed next to everything in the interface so I don't have to do an adventure-game's hunt-and-peck-and-try-every-combo to find something that works.
Doing anything political in this game besides simple accept/reject treaties is as fruitful as letting someone shoot me in the head.
Maybe I'm too used to Civilization's feedback.
Thanks...

Re: FEATURE: I want a better political interface
I usually simply start with a 5% trade treaty, then gradually add to the treaty one small step at a time. It nearly always works and is also somewhat realistic: you see relations slowly getting better through the game.
I would like to see the "share emergency medical care" bumped up in the list though...
But I agree it's somewhat cumbersome (like the rest of the UI) to make TRADES in the game.

Re: FEATURE: I want a better political interface
I kind of like the Looking for the Right treaty for the AI to accept. Kind of gives you a feeling of "getting to know them" to me.
What I would most be interested in is for the AI to be more intelligent about what the provisions do.
I do like the idea of gradual treaty provisions over the course of the game.
Different things such as Planet Destroying showing up as research progresses.
