Boarding Parties and Toxin Injectors |
Are these working at all?
I took 8 destroyers, with 3 boarding parties a piece so 24. I sent them to capture a single frigate in the space simulator. After expending all of their boarding parties, they did not manage to capture the ship. These were rank 7 parties, 16 marines if I remember correctly, 50 crew on the frig, no security stations or boarding parties of its own.
Similiar test with toxin injectors. I put an insane amount ships with toxin injectors attacking the same single frig with 50 crew. After they expended all their ammo, still 50/50 crew.
Any help?
I was just trying a game
I was just trying a game with them and no luck for me. shows that little troop symbol above the ship trying to be capture but no matter what no luck. tried in sim used 1 ship with 7 parties of 14 marines, no luck for me

Could we get some clarification on
Toxin Injectors: Are these supposed to go through shields and armor?
Do they work IF shields are down on the target ship, regardless of whether they are supposed to work that way?
Boarding parties
I didn't try it before the patch, but after the patch I tried ship capture...it was one of my favorite tactics in SEIV. I tried with at least 3 LC with 12-14 level 4 (14 marines) boarding party components EACH, and was unable to take over a frigate. This was in the combat simulator, not in actual battle, but I became so convinced that it was broken and useless that I have never tried to use it in battle.

The target ship was my oldest model scout; it had no shields.
I tried to cap a colony ship
i tried to capture a colony ship.. 50 crew, and 90% destroyed.. no armor and i have to drop the shields.. still no capture. with 5 BP lvl 15 (16 marines) tried several times and with up to 3 ships. i repair the ships in between assults.. but still tringto cap.. no crew loss suffered on the colony ship.

I've not tested it for a while, but you need at LEAST 1 marine for each crew member on the ship you are attempting to capture.
and yes it did work when I tested it a doezen or so patches ago.

Before the patch I did not
Before the patch I did not have any problem with the ship capture. I started a new game with the patch and just got that ability. I'll let you know if I run into any problems.
