Treaty Alterations

Radeen's picture

So, in a Demo game I am playing, I have a treaty with an empire whose stipulations include "both empires will have no other treaties."

This is all good and what not except when I propose changes to my current treaty, I am told I am not allowed any other treaties.

It seems the only way around this is to first Break my current Treaty and re-propose, which seems to run the risk of winding up with no treaty at all.

I think that we should be able to propose treaty alterations without violating the "no other treaties" agreement.

Good point...

That seems fair enough if you don't want to break a treaty and upset the AI.

Also happens when AI proposes new treaty

The same bug prevents me from accepting a new treaty proposed by the AI if the current treaty between us has this 'no further treaty' stipulation. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to prevent either the AI or myself from proposing new treaties and/or revisions between ourselves.

Break Treaty and set up new...

Just break the treaty and make a new one. In most cases, the AI won't care all that much. And don't accept treaties in the future with silly no-treaty clauses. If you're offered that by the AI, just counter-propose.
