Treaty Bug (or is it?) |
I think I found a bug with the treaty element that prevents empires from forming treaties with other empires. The Terran empire offerred me a treaty with this treaty element on it, specifically it was the "neither empire my enter into treaties with other empires" element. Now, maybe it's just how I interpreted this is the problem, but this element implies to me that I can't form new treaties with empires other than the terrans. But the very next turn after accepting this treaty, the Terrans offered another treaty (this one with the "neither empire may perform research" ?!?!?!) Obviously, I didn't want to accept that, but I chose the propose changes option to remove that "rider". But when I hit send message, I get the error saying your current treaty prevents this. But I'm not proposing a treaty with other empires! I'm proposing it to the only empire that I supposedly can enter into treaties with. So in the end, I had to reject the treaty (no other choice really), which REALLY angered the Terrans. I doubt I would have been able to even accept the second treaty even if I wanted to.
So either this is a bug, or the AI has to be changed to not offer impossible to accept treaties, or at least make it so that they have to wait for current treaty offers to be accepted/rejected before proposing new ones, since they probably hadn't received my response to the first treaty yet before offering the second.
And while at it.. Stop the AI from offering neither race can research treaty elements. What is the point?!?! Oh.. let's both stop gaining any power... you know for the good of both our races.. By the way, did you hear that the Xiati are developing black hole generators?
i thought cool you can outlaw researching cloaking tech
i thought it would be able to halt you from researching a specific tech branch, not the whole dang tree. like no researching cloaking, or no researching star destroying weapons. maybe thats the ultimate goal and we just have to wait for a patch?

hehe funny... the AI often seems to offer pretty random treaties. but the diplomacy system in SE5 shows great potential. I just can't wait for the next few patches
