Im not sure if this is a bug or not but it seems that the damage type "skips armor" does not completely destroy a ship. Weapons such as the Crystalline Torpedo destroys 100% of the ships internals then does nothing else. I cant remember if this is how it worked in SEIV or not. Can it be changed to destroy the armor components last?

Why not maintenence?

Sure they should - that could be the weapons key feature if it is allowed to stay that way.

There was a post in the "Bug Reports" forum on this same subject. Captain Kwok pointed out that his Balance Mod addresses this problem.
Theoretically the ship should not be destroyed, the armor is still there floating in space, but an empire shouldn't have to pay any maintenance for a floating mass of armor.
