I'm liking the game so far, but.... |

First time poster here, though I've played SEIV quite a bit and lurked on the boards for a while.
Been waiting on SEV, and enjoying my first run through on it during the last two days since I got the 1.08 patch.
I like the idea of the balance patch, and may even give it a try...although I do like the extended levels of tech you get right now. More micromanagement, but for me that's ok. This game is all about that anyways. I haven't gotten into the late-game yet, so I'm not sure how well the tech will pan out during that though so we'll see.
Initially, I thought the game was a little clunky in the interface...and some of those thoughts remain. I've found the shortcuts for a few things though which has helped speed up my turns a bit.
One of the things I haven't figured out is how to add and delete items from the categories. For example, I create colonies called "Monolith Colonies". I can type in the name each time I colonize, but I haven't found a way to add that to the set list the way you could in SEIV. In fact, in Ship design, I pare down a lot of the categories to simplify the lists a bit, and loved that functionality in SEIV as well...but again, I don't see the way to do this yet in SEV.
Is there a way to edit these lists in game that I haven't found yet? Or is it something you need to "mod".

With the current SE V system
With the current SE V system you have to manually add (or 'mod') the data files to have more Design Types; the Planet Types thing you could also 'mod' the default types file for planets and add the ones you normally use.
I have created a small software app that I use to add to the Design Types file, it adds globally though - and only for new games. I do not believe there is a current way to add new ship design types to current save games.
