Cargo transfer in simultaneous mode

I can't seem to transfer specific cargo in simultaneous mode - I can "load all populations", but if I want to load just my population and no Eee population from a multiracial colony, the Transfer command (T-key) doesn't work! Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
edit: also, how come the condensed view checkbox is dimmed?
