Question |
Ok, i know its been asked before, but i haven't really received a clear answer.
In regards to a weapon killing ppulation ( A DUC lets say) it has two entries for damage to the pop. One in settings.txt where it says
Damage to Kill one population =
and another under its damage type (Normal in this case) where it says
Population killed by one damage point.
My question is, which one works and which doesnt or do they bot and one simply gets priority. because im trying to make it so weak weapons cant glass a planet unless like En mass but i cant figure it out.. heres what i originally thought
Damage to kill one population =1200 So any weapon that does less than that wont hurt a soul
Population killed by one damage point =.00083 (Simply 1/1200) it would take a weapon doing 100 damage 12 hits on the planet to kill 1M people.
However none of this seems to be the case as ive tested it.. Any ideas or thoughts as to what i can do.. It was suggested earlier that I take off planet in the taarget type of some cpomponents but then it cant hit WP's..
Is it possible to add "Only planet population" to the components damage types in addition to normal/phased/skips... ect.? cause then i could tweak it on an individual level you know..
well thanks for any input i really appriciate it..

Re: Question
I can't recall if the damage type value overrides the settings.txt value.
You can't achieve what you want. Like I said earlier, there's no partial damage to population. If the damage amount is less than the damage amount to kill 1M, 0 damage is done. So even though your ship fires 1200 total damage in your example, it won't kill any population.

Re: Question
There's no partial damage to population. If a weapon can't kill at least 1M per hit, then no damage is done at all.
