Cloaked Warp Points

Submitted by MrOuija on Tue, 2008-07-08 10:07. Space Empires V General

Has anyone ever tried to give warp points a cloak level to simulate closed warp points ala starfire ? I'm thinking that there could be a few different obscuration levels ranging from the easy to find, to the invisible until high tech sensors are developed variety.

Warp point visibility overrides any cloak level they are given.

Is it possible to turn that off? I seem to remember a setting for whether or not you "remember" an object's location.

That wouldn't matter, because you would still see the WP as soon as it comes into sensor range (LRS).

you could do a random warp points

here's my thought:

when the turn begins close the old WP and open new ones to a random location (would that be possible)

It would be a fun game Smiling

They would only be seen once they came into sensor range if the sensors could detect them right? So even if you 'remembered' where they were once you found them, you might not find them the first time through a system? It should work.

All you'd have to do to defeat that is tag sectors with minefields. Don't even bother with the actual WP sector; just do the ones around it, but not in normal flight paths.
