Description
I have been playingm Space Empires V for a while. i am on version 1.74. I have been playing both standard and the latest balance mod. Now when i try to play i get a blank screen after i select "play". When I go to task manager i see the main play screen for a second then nothing. i have reinstalled completely three times. No mahjor updates to the system. Only my cr has been scratched by my kids. Any suggestions? aside from "scraping" the childeren.

Did you try to wait several minutes?
No I did not. I will try and be patient. Would a scratched CD play into it? Thanks.

I waited for ten minutes and the screen never came up. But when I go to task manager to stop the progam I see the main screen for a second. Also I noticed that the sev.exe was taking anywhere from 97 to 85 percent in cpu usage. If that means anything.

I had to turn the music to false in the settings.txt. Then I rolled back my audio and video drivers. Now the game plays. Just no music. Oh well. At least I can play again
