BSD/forced Reboot

Submitted by wilddemoncat on Tue, 2006-10-17 14:51. Bug Reports

I've been playing the steam version of se V pre and post patch, about 90% of the games i've started crash 1st time I click construction icon, I get a flash of blue screen of death then pc reboots. Just happened 3 times in row..............anyone else getting this?

If game does not crash that 1st time though seems to work fine..odd.

Thanks.

What's the message?

What's the error? Is it video card related?

That has to be amoung the stupidest features MS put into Windows XP.

Right click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings tab. Uncheck automatic restart.

That will at least let you see the error message.

Tips for Reboots

Submitted by Captain Kwok on Tue, 2006-10-17 15:09.

Assuming you're using XP:

Is your system set to send an error report after it reboots - that can often tell you what component is responsible for the reboot...

Also, in the My Computer > Properties > Advanced Tab > Settings for Startup/Recovery - you can set your machine not to automatically reboot in which cause you'll get some sort error message.

Yup it was nv4_disp.dll, so guess SE V does not like new nvidia beta drivers oh well will change them and see if still crash.

Thanks.
