My fighters are draining too much supply from my carriers! Aren't they? |

So, I have a Lt. Carrier that has room for about 4000 tons of fighter cargo and is carying about 24,500 tons of supplies maybe 5000 tons of ordinance.
That should be enough for a couple of battles right?
Nope.
The first battle I'm in I launch all 4000 tons of fighters, about 70% head for the battle and the other 30% head for cover in the opposite direction!
Why?
I'm guessing not enough supplies for a full fighter attack so the 30% run and hide? I think this mainly because when the battle is over my carrier's supply storage is empty and it can only move 1 space now!
Well, I'm currently using the only work around I know of, which is to transfer supplies from my other ships to the carrier so it can move and launch another fighter wave when battle is rejoined.
I'm all for the concept of using supplies during combat and space travel, but I think fighters are gulping it down a bit too quickly.
Am I wrong?
Because I am sending supply ships along with my carrier fleets now, I just didn't expect this high of a level of supply requirements.
If it's not a bug I will adapt to it. I just want confirmation that this is the reality of the game and not a fluke.
Any opinions are welcome, but facts would be even more greatly appreciated.

I agree that they use too much supply. I keep AE (freighters with lots and lots of supply and ordinance containers)type ships with my fleets and its still not enough.

but,
after thinking it through I actually quite like the excessive drain the fighters put on a carrier, it forces smaller carriers to have smaller numbers of fighters and makes me hold off on large carriers until I have researched better supply methods.
P.S Capt Kwok, I e-mailed you two files which have large numbers of names in them. Can you host them on your site?

I think he's releasing a new version of the mod later tonight if I'm not mistaken...
Although I wouldn't mind a delay if some of these balance fixes mentioned make it into the mod..

Do not download the "special version" as it won't work with 1.08 - it was a release for version 1.00 of SE:V only. I will post an update later tonight.
Even if you could load save games with the mod files (not really possible since each save game is attached to the default or a specific mod folder) it wouldn't be compatible anyways.

Too many fighters, too few supplies...
The main problems here are that a) Carriers can carry far too many fighters in stock and b) the supply components do not provide enough supplies...
