medic centres vs plagues, not a preventative? |
in a game (1.71) with BM installed, i've had 3 plagues happen to my empire. (all lvl1 plagues)
so 1st time it happens i put 100% into medical research, getting lvl 5 next turn, letting my make a medic ship to send to the planet.
after this i systematically place a lvl5 medical centre in all systems. but i still get hit by 2 more plagues. the latest one actually on a planet with a medical centre present.
so i'm wondering if it's a typo in the facility description. it does cure the plague on the next turn, but it doesn't seem to stop an outbreak, nor prevent 1 turn's worth of death before it happens.
Re: medic centres vs plagues, not a preventative?
Yep, 1 turn later it gets cured. Not quite immediate, but much better than several turns of it.

Re: medic centres vs plagues, not a preventative?
I've updated the description for Medical Centers to describe the proper action of the facility.
Re: medic centres vs plagues, not a preventative?
There used to be a couple other bugs with plague. I don't know if they've been fixed. If I remember right the entire population of a colony could be dead from plague, but you still couldn't land your own colonists on the dead planet for some reason. Also, I think a plague ridden planet would also kill your own people even if there was no one left alive on the planet to give the plague to your colonists. That seemed a bit odd to me. It seems like you would at a minimum have a cure for your own bio-weapons, but maybe not.

Re: medic centres vs plagues, not a preventative?
Yes, the description is a bit misleading.
