Shipset Viewer

What happened to the Shipset Viewer? Right up until the latest patch, I could view any shipset, easily, by either transferring the x file to the utility folder or copying the shipset viewer exe to the empire's folder. Simple! Was very easy to see and fix any problems with weapons arcs immediately.

Now when I copy the shipset viewer to a (non-stock) empire folder and try to run it, it crashes. If I copy the empire's shipset x file to the viewer's folder and try to open it, I get a blank screen. What gives? I cannot see any difference between a stock shipset file that loads, and a custom empire set that gives me a blank screen.

I haven't had a problem with the viewer since the last patch, never tried copying the viewer exe how ever. When I would get a blank screen it was usually
a missing .Bmp texture file.

Shipset viewer may have a render cap in both poly count and base size limit.

But since you said it worked prior to the patch, not sure whats going on.

Nope and Nope. Models are fine, worked perfectly in old viewer, and old viewer could view the crazy-arse Hildigarian (or whatever) shipset where the guy made models for absolutely EVERYTHING.

I'm noticing some config files in the utility dir for the shipset viewer I never noticed before, seems to contain only the stock races entries. This is new, because as I said, I used to be able to just copy the viewer into any empire folder I wanted, run it, and bring up the local shipset file from within that folder. This no longer works, I get an exception crash error.

This will make it next impossible for me to fix anyone's custom empire where they've buggered up the ship weapon arcs, (the Hildigarian is a classic case of this, took me hours of work just to fix all the models up to cruiser)

All that is done before the naked stars is remembered
