Balance Mod Neutral Races |
This question is more for CaptainKwok. I was looking through the Neutral races in the Balance Mods Empires folder and I see that the neutral races folders have nothing in them except pictures. I was wondering if you disabled the use of neutral races in your mod for a reason or would it be ok to copy the neutral race data from the games original neutral folders to the Balance Mods one.

Re: Balance Mod Neutral Races
A neutral empire is a race that never leaves its home system. Besides the fact they will only ever be in one system, they all use the same generic ships, which are greyish-green and box like.
The main empires are:
Abbidon, Amonkrie, Cue Cappa, Drushocka, EEE, Jranear, Norak, Phong, Sergetti, Sithrak, Terran, Ukra'Tal, Xiati, and Xi'Chung.
Anybody else is a neutral empire.
When setting up a new game, you can choice between low, medium, and high for number of computer players and likewise for number of neutral empires.
Re: Balance Mod Neutral Races
Note that neutrals are assigned random unused flags when created. You have to look at the name of the empire, because they might use the same flag that you've seen on a main race in other games.

"Good morning, Pooh Bear," said Eeyore gloomily. "If it /is/ a good morning," he said. "Which I doubt," said he.
Re: Balance Mod Neutral Races
Another easy way involves games with multiple homeworlds. Minor races always have 1 regardless of how many the major races have. Thus they'll always have a much lower score in the rankings.

Re: Balance Mod Neutral Races
You don't need to do anything.
If there are any missing items in a mod folder such as a data file etc., the game automatically checks the stock folders for it. In this case, the only difference for the neutral races is the smaller flag sizes.
