Unnamed's AI vs Devnull mod

Submitted by Snike on Mon, 2008-05-12 13:27. SE:V MODs

Hi to all.

Is it possible to combine the features of Devnull mod and Unnamed's upgraded AI functionality?

Thanks in advance for reply.

Devnull has an AI based on the Balance Mod, so it should be comparable. Not sure if Devnullicus has released the latest version though, which I believe is more in-tune with the Devnull mod's items.

Thanks for reply Smiling

Hmmm... If they should be comparsible, then, I can't understand, why AI so stupid. Every time, that I playing with Ballance or DevNull mod, the AI empires have a 10-15 ships in total, and owning 1 system, sometimes even with 1 planet (homeworld), even if there is a present suitable planet for them, in their homesystem, to colonize... And the behavor of the AI empires is very strange. Firstly, they easily agreed to non-aggression in all systems, but after some time, when I encounter 3-4 empires in total and made non-aggr. agreements with several of them, they break all agreements with me simultaneously, in one turn (several empires at once. Then, after a few turns more, some of them (not all) declaring a war to me. But all, what they can do after - is to send periodically 1-5 ships to me, which are easily destroyed by my forces, guarding warp point to their system. And this is not because of my ships are equipped better, than AI ships - usually, from the beginning, I spending almost all research points to Applied Research tech, a little bit to Intelligence Services, and all that left - to the minerals, organics and radioactives extraction, to get an asteroid mining modules for ships asap...
All this happened with medium AI difficulty setting, and high AI bonus setting .Is there something wrong?

Two things here, the small empires are the minor, or neutral, empires; these will not expand outside of their home system. The second is that you appear to be triggering the massive evil empire condition that will cause the AI to declare war on you.

Hmm. How it's possible to determine empire's "neutralness" in the game?

A neutral empire will not expand beyond their home system, they may have ships guarding the system but will never attempt to use a warp point, other than this I'm not sure.

The EASY way to detect minor vs major AIs? Play a with multiple homeworlds. Any AI with only 1 homeworld is a minor AI. Smiling

All neutral empires have a specific grey shipset and a simple flag lacking any emblem.

Well yeah, the grey shipset is an easy one. It's actually a port of the shipset used for minor races in SE2. Sticking out tongue

The flag.... Last game I played the minors had the same sort of flags as the major AIs. They always spawned with random ones.
