You can download it here

Beta 0.6 marks a large step for the mod with the addition of complete working AI for normal and monster races. It also does a fair ammount of monster balacing to address issues that had shown up in the now defunct pbw games I was running. Multiplex tracking has been changed a bit, all hulls have a base tracking ammount this ammount can only be increased by turning over control of the ship to a Master Computer. Also I have tried to push each hull size closer to having a more specific role.

As usual the mods needs Image Mod and Sound Mod to work properly

Beta 0.6
Added complete working TDM based AI thanks to bearclaw
Tweaked Engine Destorying Weapons
Increased Mines/Sats per sector per player
Greatly reduced damage of shield component destroying weapons to prevent exploiting
Added 10th rule to Generic Space Monster Rules.txt
Added 5th level of Monster PD
Lowered Monster research and construction slightly
Made Bio Electric Field have two levels
Made Monster Neural Core two levels
Tonnage changes to all levels of Master Computer
Slightly raised armor research cost
Increased size of worldships to better reflect how large they are
Increased size of worldship size carriers to better reflect how large they are
Changed maintence reduction on world base to 90%
Changed Superbeast defense bonus
Changed Monster Berzerk II
Changed Solar and Advanced Solar Panels
Moved Multi-Plex Tracking ability to hulls
Replaced Combat Support tech area with Electromagnetic Counter Measures
Added multiplex tracking ability to Master Computers
Gave ship hulls more specific roles
Added Targeting Computer
Reduced Resupply tech area to three levels
Changed Depleted Uranium Cannon to Depleted Uranium Railgun
Added new Empire Types
Added Armor AI tags
Fixed Transport size issue
Cleaned up a number of AI issues
Reduced overall filesize of mod by a considerable margin

Nice mod, but I think some of the AI may be making some wrong selections for the race creation. I have 20 AIs in game of which 2 do not have the "normal race + not a pirate" treat. After 10 years into the game they still have only 1 planet, no ships, 0.0 research points. Is this supposed to be like that? One of them is a neutral race (Texrak) and the other one is the Praetorian race. I haven't spotted any monsters yet, but I haven't met all races yet. Are they always in a game with 19 CPU players or is it completely random?

I just ran 2 games with 18 normal generated AIs and another with 4 neutrals and all of them were using the proper racial traits. When you don't add specific empire files they are randomly generated based on the AI files with the shipsets so it could be possible somethings randomly generated in a way that I never encountered during testing. Could you email the saved game to me

Shrike, can you open any of the AI files for any of the affected races within their Race folder in the Invasion! mod folder? Should open with any text editor.

2 things I'm looking for
1st: are there any AI files in these folders?
2nd: if so, the very first line of the text file should be a title. The title should say something like "TDM-Based AI Files for Invasion! mod v(x.xx)"

Can you tell me what the version number (x.xx) is?

Shrike we have figured out what is wrong but not quite how to fix it yet but as a temporary solution just play 5000 racial point games that will let all the races have the proper traits.

The AI files are under invasion/pictures/races/race_folder right? First thing I notice is that the number of IA files varies greatly with the race. For example: the Abbidon have 8 and the Praetorians have 12 and CueCappa have 13. Second thing is that very few files seem to have the TDM header. I've only spotted the CueCappa_AI_General.txt, the CueCappa_AI_Research.txt and the CueCappa_AI_DesignCreation.txt files with this TDM header. When comparing to the Praetorians, I see that these have just the Praetorian_AI_General.txt with TDM header. Would that explain why their tech levels are at a glaring 0.0? All TDM AI files opened so far are v0.04 by the way.

Maybe not all that important, but when checking the invasion/empires folder I see only a small bunch of .emp files. I take it they are some kind of more generic files to model a Space Monster, Normal or Pirate type of empire?

Thanks for looking into this. Even with this bug the game provides quite a challenge. The year is 2423.0 and the Terran Confederation is currently leading by more than twice my score and this is even after I have "assimilated" the two defunct empires of the Texrak and the Praetorians.

Well, the versions that you do have are correct. And unless CW added other files, it does sound like you've got too many. CW, did you add anything to those folders?

No I didn't add anything that I can think of. Do you have a copy of the mod in its released form bearclaw?
