1.71 + BM 1.4a: Attacking planets, placement on battlefield |
I'm starting to try to get back into SEV, after figuring it's probably been updated and debugged enough, but when i attack a planet using a fleet composed of a carrier (to support the fighters and drop troops) and a large fighter group, the carrier gets placed right next to the victim, er, defending planet and gets blown away while the fighters start where they should, approx 3/4 of the battlefield away from the planet.
Anyone have an idea what's going on?

I had a very interesting experience in war in the first devnull test. it seemed every time a battle started I was in an advantageous position. One battle, my opponent is all over the place but I start right next to a few of his ships off by themselves. They lasted about 5 seconds. Another and I attack his planet. He starts off at the edge of the grid, I start next to his planet and glass it before retreating. It got quite controversial.

Both sides should start at the edges of the map. Ive had problems with that too. Non-combat vessels will start in the middle of the gun-fight.

was the carrier cloaked?
