Knowing too much about most things |
I am hoping there is a way to disable certain information as outlined below.
Knowing the exact value of a planets resources the second I see it from space
Knowing the exact ammo and damage and abilities of the enemy ships when in combat
Would prefer to only know the resources of a planet after I colonise it or explore it somehow. This takes away from the 4x feel.
Sure there is more as I get further into the game.
Cheers,

You could just not look at those fields on the display. They aren't that conspicuous.

Re: Knowing too much about most things
Upon further reflection, actually starting them at 0 would screw up the AI, and require much reworking of it to reanalyze the colony type after a turn or two.. Randomly adjusting the existing values is probably a better, less error-prone approach.

Re: Knowing too much about most things
Such things are not really modifiable.
You could try adding something to the events script that randomly raises/lowers planet values after colonizing the planet (or start them at 0 and set a value after colonization), but I'm not sure how you would measure the colony's "age."
