Are anyone else having problems downloading SEV from Steam

i'm for the uk and it is still gray to mewith (not yet released ) so can't down load it

Ditto...but as a consolation i gone and bought myself a 50" bravia HDTV (like i'm gonna watch tele...that's my new monitor )

This is like a bad (really bad) joke. We paid for the game almost as much as a box edition, we get it later, and when the release date comes we can't download it! The freakish server busy error, still raises it's nasty head...

Hold your horses, people, Steam is not the most organised of services. Give it a few more hours, alright?

According to the Steam Forums for SE5 it says "6-7pm GMT", now you'll have to remember the UK is running on GMT+1 - whether this has an impact or not I don't know, but it might.

So keep your knickers on. You will not die from lack of SE5.

I hope you're right Captain Kythorak, for I've been watching this game for quite some time and here in Greece there is no other way to buy it. Hope you're right...

Dunno, but this 6-7pm gmt doesnt seem very official to me, more like an steam user that that states when games generaly is released on steam.
And yes we probably wont die becouse of lack of se5 (lol) but it still feels a bit dissapointing from steam not to give any usefull info ie my steam client says that space empires aint relesed on steam at the moment, sametimes it says i can download it if their servers wherent full

yet another deferred deadline, only this time it cost me money.

i got up every two hours last night hoping that I could start downloading it, well its morning now and nothing.

Yes, friend you are correct. It's just a user stating generic info. I checked Steam SEV forum a couple of minutes ago and there is nothing official AFAIK. I just hope they'll release it sometime during the night...

For The second time of the day, the SE5's Status on steam has changed...
The SE5 status change from "new on Steam" to "coming soon" sometimes.

And, yes, we can wait, and as i say, i'm fully ok to wait if necessary. But i'd like receive news and informations.
Just stay tuned about release.

Here, it's 11h03 PM.. So October 17 very soon, and it's very dispointed / frustating to wait without news..

Steam is now letting me download the game. I'm about 33% finished. It became available at 5:00PM EST.

Well, if Steam overshoot by anything more than 12-24 hours, they'll have hell to pay from the fans (and SFI) I'm sure.

I wouldn't worry too much. I have to stay up and monitor skilltraining on EVE, so we'll see what happens.

I can confirm this. If you're having trouble, shut down Steam, delete Clientregistry.blob and start Steam up again.

I just bought the boxed game from StrategyFirst; how long will it take to be shipped? I'm really impatient to get the game

I downloaded and instald the Demo, but I have graphic issues (The images on the ship construction page are all messed up...), so I'll wait for the full game to start playing

As for the patch, I would like to see the official homepage on MM updated; it still says that the game has to be released on "Winter 2006"...

But thegame is great; SEIV is a masterpiece, and I'm expecting SEV to be the same. It may require some time to get rid of all the remaining bugs, but I'm confident that we will all be satisfied with the final product...

Well, I've downloaded and started playing the Steam version of the game and it seems to work great. It even let me resume my savegame from the demo.

Unfortunately, it's still version 1.00

But still, it's good to finally have the full version.

I think a lot of people are getting ansty for the patch about now because 'fixed in the patch' has become kind of a mantra of late, along with the added comment that the patch would be today (While you would be seeing complaints, I dont think you'd be seeing as many if today wasn't listed as the date for the patch)
