Another reason why the baseship combat images shouldn't be so darn big

Submitted by glockgemini on Fri, 2008-03-21 10:23. Space Empires V General

I don't know why baseship combat images are so darn big. For a 1500KT ship, which is 50% bigger than a dreadnaught, the screen image is 800% bigger which is bigger than many planets.

Anyway, the large size of these images causes the ships to "stack" whenever they get too close to each other. Sometime they never come back back down to the "bottom" of the combat area and are hard to find when I want to issue orders.

Is there a way to force the ships back down when there are no nearby ships to cause them to fly up and out of sight? I have seen any buttons to use for it.

You can instead switch to a top-down view. This forces the game to show you everything regardless of "height".
