Colorful static problem |
okay so im running into this problem. when i play the game i get this colorful static thing that shows up in the windows, or instead of icons. it happens anywhere in the game and randomly. i can play for a little bit, but eventually one of the windows will get this static looking discoloration. its a big issue, because if there is text in the window it makes it unreadable.
ive downloaded all the patches from the main page here. was that a waste? did i need to only download the most recent one? well i downloaded them all, although i know there are earlier patches before the ones on the site. do i need to get those as well? i found them somewhere but i think i couldnt download them. this make any sense?

Thats what the problem looks like. Thats right on the main screen after hitting "New Game". Though the same sorta "colorful static" issue can come up at any window really. Ive got a really good computer so i dont know why this is happening. Ive even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the same problem is there. I dont get it, its random.
Someone please help!

did you alt + tab on the game? sometimes computers dont like it when you do...other then that..hmmm do you have the latest drivers on your video card?
do you play other games that have a lot more graphics, if so I would highly doubt its a video card issue, but still check for any updates for your card. also when ever these odd things happen try to do microshafts windows updates, and restart your computer and try again

hmm I just thought of something, the graphics in the background look fine, but the game window looks messed up, not all of it...so maybe try to reinstall the game, sometimes these random glitches happen
and does this happen every time or just the one time?

That looks like defective video card to me. The video card thinks everythings ok so you don't get an error. Then when a part of the screen is changed that part gets fixed.
Random problems usualy mean hardware failure.
Software problems are usualy predicable (I do X and always get Y error)

Every patch is cumulative; you only need the lastest one.
I have no ideas about the video static.
