To research computer complexes.

Submitted by Zodgrod on Mon, 2008-02-11 08:34. Space Empires V General

I have been using the tech chart everyone seems to link to and it is generally invaluable. However, I think I have found an error in it: it seems to indicate that Centralized Computer Systems is revealed with Construction level 3. but in my first game, I have just researched Construction 2 and, when I examine Level 3 in the research window, it doesn't say anything about next allowing Centralized Computer Systems research. This is confirmed in the user manual which indicates that you need Industry level 3. Because I can't figure out how to use the "everyone can see all tech levels" feature (its on, but how do you use it?!) I just want to confirm that i need level 3 Industry.

Thanks!
James

Is this a Balance Mod game? If so, you also need Computers level 2.

Oh, sorry, no, its a stock game. (According to the tech chart, you need Industry for computers as well.)

The data files are the definitive authority on these things because they are what the game itself looks up when trying to figure them out.

Playing Touhou games (Go to this Wiki if interested. No, nobody else is that good/insane as that replay). No rush for SE

What you look for is TechAreas.txt. It is in the SEV/ data folder.
It says that you need Construction level 3.
