SEV Steam version questions

I have the Steam version and you have to be online to install it, but once installed and running you dont need internet to play. Only when there is a new patch do you need to go online and let it get updated.

I have steam and the game wil not launch without steam up and running in the back ground. And that does require you to be online. if I try to launch directly from the SE5 exe, it fails with "unable to locate steam.dll".

I not only dislike the ascpects of steam, but dislike it to the point I am going to buy the game again, boxed version, and un-install the bossy spy-ware POS steam garbage. >:(

Ok. I love the game enough to buy it twice.

Once the game is installed and activated you can start it off-line. Steam does have to be running in the background but will quite happily run in off-line mode.

yeah you just tell it to start in off line mode after it says oh look you dont have a connection! retry or start in off line mode or die...

my internet was down and I couldnt figure out why...then I noticed my comp wasnt on my network...the snap on the cable had broken off a long long time ago, and my cat was behind my computer..no more connectivity! but I was able to play SEV even though I use steam...

on a side note other games via steam like half life or something used too, (note used too, Im not too sure about now) would like not want to run cause they KNEW an up date was out and like didnt want to run no matter what...so if you can get the game from like a store or online of where ever you guys got it I would do that... besides I wish I had the box =p
