Looking for a converted shipset from SE IV, but can't remember the race name.

Hi.

Can anyone tell me the race name for a SE IV race that in population picture was brown/grey alien, with totally black eyes, and a small thing above eye that looked like some sort of cybernetic addition, or maybe some sort of HUD device?

Their ships were wide and flat for smaller vessels, while larger ones had three sort of angled wings, one to the each side and slightly up, third straight down.

Does anyone know the race I am talking about? I was trying to look for race pics of SE IV, to see it (I don't own the game). I'd like to know if there is a shipset for these aliens in SE V, as I always liked their ships looks in IV.

That's one of the stock races, the Xiati. They are in SE5, but the look of their ships has changed.

Are you sure? Is there a Xiati SE IV Race portrait visible somewhere? I don't think that is the one I meant.

I somehow remember Xiati being different.

I am certain. The Xiati ships had a makeover for Star Fury and then a new race portrait was added for SE5.

Hmm. I though the Xiati were the green eyed bug style monsters. Is there a SE IV Xiati portrait somewhere to check.

Lord Demon, here are the Xiati Race portrait and the Battlecruiser portrait. You'll need a view capable of looking at them, Irfanview or somesuch.

Umm, hmm I don't see an option for posting an attachment to a regular post. Another reason to like www.spaceempires.net forum software over this one.

Damn, I was hoping you got the wrong image in mind, so that I might actually find the cool looking ships.

Anyone know if there is shipset that converts the "original" Xiati ships to SE5? I though they looked cool, I want to play them.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think it is necessary to bother other people. I guess Captain Kwok got it correct, after bothering my memory cells a bit more.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe you could do that. Mention in the post I am hoping to find SE V ship style based on those designs. Who knows, maybe I someone overthere has knowledge of one. When fishing, two nets are better then one so to say.

There's no ships in SE5 that match the Xiati ships of SE4, but you might like the custom Ngrath Empire:

It's Ok, but I still preferred the Xiati originals. Don't know exactly what in them it was, but they definately had something...
