Any new patches?

Hi guys. Does anyone know if there is going to be any more patches or if 1.66 is the last of it?

Thanks.

Yeah, Aaron is probably focusing all his attention on the next update.
And judging from the time of the last update, it'll probably be quite substantial.

if one has any doubt as to the dedication given this series, just look at the patch history of it's predecessors. Smiling

There are still things to be fixed...there is still friendly fire between allies in combat, enemy ships that run into mine fields cause all the fiendly ships to move to the retreat boarder, ships don't always stay where you put them from turn to turn around a warp point, cloaked ships don't stay cloaked between turns...to name but a few.

friendly fire isnt bad, its realistic...but the cloaking thing is annoying especially when you have spy sats deep in enemy space

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess that you haven't actually encountered the friendly fire bug Tak was referring to, or at least not at the level that some folks have seen...

I guess I will answer with a question then, how bad have you seen it cause it was rather minor on my part...

Im guessing your talking about like who needs enemies with friends like these or you might as well be attacking all three of them at once kinda badness?

The example I have been closest to was in a PBW game. Two friendly empires with non-aggression agreements had sizable fleets set up and guarding a warp point. Two or three enemy scout ships warped through, and the two guarding fleets, for all intents and purposes, essentially crippled one another. They didn't stop shooting at one another until the enemy scouts were destroyed.

When I think if the friendly fire instance I've heard of in real life, I think of the fog of war, mistaken identity, situational awareness (ie friendlies are in the area), and comm breakdowns. Personally, I'm not a big enough realism advocate in a game like SEV to want any of those in the game.
