I don't know, maybe after a patch comes that makes the game playable. The IA and Shadows were ready
to go head to head then I stared getting the turn possessing glitch. Plus I'm getting systems with nothing
in them and were ships warp in off the hex grid into no man's land. It's just getting to frustrating to
make them then can't play em.

I used to have that problem, with ships going into warp points and ending outside the hex grid. I installed the game again and I never had the problem again, so I didn't said anything in the forum earlier.

I also thought the problem could be caused by new systems that I added to Balance Mod. They had 9-10 planets and many moons. I think I read somewhere that too many objects in a system will cause problems. I stopped using these systems and it never happened again.

I imagine that this is not your case so the problem must be caused by something else and I was luck.

Another possible reason is if your settings are not defined as English-US. Mine were not. I changed it to avoid problems with Genesis map editor at the same time I installed the game again and stopped using the new systems.

Maybe some of this will help you.

I've had a few instances of the ships appearing outside of the circle in combat and instantly retreating. Thought it was a game bug but it hasn't caused any major issues.

I like how the Shadow ships seem to sparkle when they move. Smiling

I am guessing the empty systems are errors in the map setup generation. When I ask for the system
report I'll get a few "file not found:" pop ups but no file names. Pretty sure this was fixed once
before by a patch. I also uncheck the option for all warp points connected? For now I think of them
as a singularity and my poor crew is in limbo forever, don't know what the AI thinks of them, they
just lay a lot of mines at the warp point entrances.

The sparkling is nice, glad I didn't try to fix it. Would only look good for these ships.

obscurity, no , they will pass beyond the rim....

How about as a super monster race that plays as a neutral until found, then awaken
spread chaos and destruction. They can only be stopped when players and AI form an alliance
with yet another super race that could be a danger in its self. Not that I've thought about
it much...na somebody would just steal it and call it deep space 8 or something

Thank you again. These ship sets are amazing. I love the entire Babylon 5 space ship concept. I have collected all the Agents of Gaming pewter miniatures and paint up the fleets to exact TV replicas. Your models are awesome.

My favorite fleets are the Brakiri and Narn. I have pewter miniature armies of both completely finished. I also have all the AOG Babylon 5 Wars books and ship sheets. I don't know if that information would assist in building race specific B5 shipsets...but at least the different size classes and types of ships would be available to SE model builders looking to build B5 ships. I am loving the IA fleet...I was happy to see the Hyperion model was included as a light cruiser because that is my all time favorite B5 ship.

I just love the Shadows primary weapon (the cutting laser). That is something that can be modded in. Is there any weapon animation similar to that in the game? Smiling

The Wave Motion Gun would be closest, has the longest duration. You can modify it
in the components.txt

Small note on the flag icons: when used with BM they do not scale down like the other races. Does this require the addition of new images for those? I installed the Shadows under the BM folder, so if I need to resize some files it won't affect stock games or other mods for me.

You need to manually edit the flag images in Photoshop or another image editing application.

Thanks for the smaller flags. I have just encountered my first issue with illegal object placement. When I wanted to drop some mines at a warp point they appeared at the other side of the map and outside the grid. The only way to get to them is via the Ships > Our units screen, but I don't know where to look to see what the co-ordinates would be.

stock AI has extras.

To see the co-ordinates try the general setting, my ships are at (-100,-100)

Heck, you're right, my sats are also at (-100,-100). No idea how they got there though. I have launched plenty of mines at other warp points without any problems.

Haven't had that happen yet, just when going into empty systems. If I remember right this sort of thing happen before in an earlier game version.
Hate to lose a fleet in one of those. You can find empty systems by making a warp opening ship, there will be no pic left of the system name. You can make a warp point into the systems and get in and out but stuff at (-100,-100) are lost. I have 3 of them in the game playing now.
Could be a good place for a spearworld, haven't tried it yet. I was worried if the AI got in one it would crash the game or something but hasn't happen yet, they seem to just mine the entrance WP a lot (one has 1700 mines & 300 satts). Hopefully a new patch will fix this like before.

well now it's happened to me, dropped a spy satt in the middle of a system and it ends up in -100.
Time to just wait for a patch, beside is it just me or has the AI became a lot less aggressive
since BM .11? They seem to just build a lot of pretty ships for me to steal and won't go any
where to engage in combat.

Ok, sorry for the thread necro, but I have a question. I am having trouble downloading this shipset. I am pretty sure I am doing it right. I get the file as winrar, select shadows and select extract to and then select Empires. But as winrar supposedly extracts the files it gives me the messages "the system cannot find the path specified" and "cannot create shadows" etc etc.

How to fix this?

I would open Windows Explorer then open winrar and drag the shadows folder to the empires folder in the Space Empires V directory.

And by the way to all, the Minbari shipset is very nearly done.
