Dealing with angry populations

Greetings,

I'm new to SEV and I must say I love the game. I've played a few learner games and now I'm working on my fist "serious" attempt a SEV...

It seems I'm now having problems with angry and rioting populations on several of my planets. I'm not at war and I've got tons of food and minerals in my treasury.

How do I fix this?

Troops on your planets help keep things in order. Urban Pacification Facilities also help boost planetary happiness for entire systems.

Also, do you have Intelligence Projects enabled? You could be getting "intel'd" by a rival race. Espionage and Sabotage are only cool if you are the one doing it, heh.

In addition to troops and UP facilities you can use fleets. In my experience, troops work best. Leave some behind or build a few right away. Then you can the UP facility whenever you want. Smiling

Thanks.... build troops it is, I'll get the UP facilities later.

I have 7600 Intel points and they are all on defense. I've met two races so far by seeing their ships and several small colonies... they have not tried to contact me yet and they can not use my type of planet.

If the other empires are not your allies, then they are your enemies!! Check the intel window, in the top right, check the estimated points against me. If the AI has no bonus then 1 point of defense = 1 point of attack. If the AI has bonuses it may take several times (2x, 5x, 10x) as many defense points to negate attacks.

Consider Civics to improve population loyalty.

There are also Civic Techs available which will increase happyness or decrease war wearyness.
