Vulcan shipset...

Submitted by SevenDeadlySins on Fri, 2008-01-04 22:21. SE:V MODs

Much respect to the individual(s) responsible for the shipset, but a few notes. First, the "satellite" subsumes an entire sector, spilling into neighboring sectors. That's one helluva satellite. On that note, most of the ships are terribly scaled.

That notwithstanding, I intended to use them, and after a few turns, decided I could not use them as-is, so I decided to retexture them. I'm no newb here, either. I was the former Lead Artist for Sentry Studios, and have been skinning for quite some time.

So, I popped open the files and went to work. Much to my chagrin, the UVmap is horrible. No amount of skinning will make that Vulcan destroyer look any better. The red arrows denote every place that the UVmap doesn't line up.

I followed the template, but obviously, this is a poor map to follow. Anyone have the original model in 3DS Max format, or something that I can work with?

Thanks in advance.

You can alter the scaling of the ships by editing the racename_Ships_XFileClasses.txt file, I wouldn't know about the source of the files but there's a forum specifically for SEV/SEIV shipset creation over on spaceempires.net, maybe someone over there knows:
